The Chandigarh Carnival is one of the most colorful and liveliest of all festivals and events in Chandigarh. Attended by both the children as well as the elders, this festival consists of a large number of fun filled activities and events that provide enjoyment to the visitors. The Chandigarh Carnival is held in the Leisure Valley area of Chandigarh. The festival is an annual event, which is held in the month of November, immediately after Children's Day. It is three-day long gala affair and is organized by the Chandigarh administrative authorities. The carnival of Chandigarh is basically celebrated in order to encourage young people to display their talents and skills to the people at large. A large number of competitions are held which enables the children and youngsters to showcase their talents. Children of all age groups participate in this mega event. Many schools also come and take part in this three-day event. Apart from the younger generation, the festival also gives the elders and the senior citizens to display their skills. A large number of competitions and contests are also organized for the adult in this carnival. So, one can say, that this festival serves as platform which enables the young and the old to exhibit their skills and talents. The Chandigarh Carnival starts with a fantastic parade where one can get to see people dressed in colorful costumes dancing and singing to the tune of their favorite songs. Some of the major competitions that are held over here include clay modeling, painting, fancy dress, singing, sit-and -draw competitions and others. One of the biggest features of this festival is that it arranges for pick up and drop facilities for the senior citizens, so that they do not face any inconvenience.
